How To Remove Old Outdoor Light Fixture. Clean the parts of the fixture with denatured alcohol. I used duct tape to hold the pieces together.
That could move two prongs like large metal staples inwards thereby releasing the shade. Remove the wire nuts and wires from the light fixture. Remove the Old Light Fixture.
I cut about a foot off of two the sides and created a rectangle out of the pieces.
Remove the screws that hold the old light in place. Pull the little metal button out parallel to the ceiling. Disassemble the light fixture and remove the glass panes. This duct tape was left over from when I did a project for Duck.
